Rudo sells clothes from Harare.
Last Tuesday, three customers messaged her before 9am. Zadi replied while she prepared to leave home. By 10am she was in traffic, dealing with a supplier. By 11am, two of those customers had gone quiet.
In the old days, she would have lost them.
Zadi followed up with each one while she was driving. By the time she checked her phone at lunch, two had confirmed their orders. The third had paid a deposit.
She did not send a single message.
